While most public schools across the country acknowledge this, a few schools have unfortunately sought to punish protesters or to impose policies that would restrict protests. These schools are not only impeding constitutionally protected political speech, but are also undermining the educational interests of students, who would benefit from discussing the important public issues raised by the protests.
