Among the awards up for grabs: best dessert; best vegan; rookie vendor of the year; and the crown jewel of them all, the Vendy Cup. Caitlyn Napolitano and Carlos Dacosta are among the finalists for best newcomers. The couple — she is a former waitress; he is a firefighter with Engine 64 — met six years ago while out dancing on the Lower East Side. Beyond break dancing, they also share a love (and talent) for cooking. Several years and many trial-and-error platefuls later, they opened their Latin-inspired, hot-pink truck, “ “The truck is vibrant and colorful. The tacos are the same,” he added.
