I had a broken watchband at the time, and although it wasn’t our intention, we noticed a watch shop that also made keys. The general fix-it shop was open. So we went in, and I asked if they could fix my watch. “Well, normally we could,” the woman said, “ But my husband is the repairman and he isn’t here.” “Will he be back soon?” I asked. “I’m not sure,” she said. “He’s looking for a parking space.” “I have a parking space right around the corner,” I said. “And it’s good until Tuesday.” “Really?” she said. “Yes,” I said. “And if you’ll call him and ask him to fix my watch, in exchange, I’ll give him my space.” So she did. And he did. And I did, too.
